New Trends in Facelifts
 We continue to improve and adjust the incisions needed to pull back and tighten the skin to
provide needed lifts where indicated. The latest trends have primarily focused on volume
replacement and it is now generally accepted that this has been a missing piece of the
puzzle. There are many patients who have lost more subcutaneous fat with aging and need
this area to be filled. The most common ways to do this are to use the patients own fat as a
fat graft for which I have long been a proponent. The only downside is that this requires an
operative procedure to harvest and prepare the fat for reinjection. A great new option is
Sculptra. This is a prepared product similar to Restylane and Captique that are off-the-shelf
injectable. However, it functions in a different manner in that it is to be injected deeper into
the tissues. It is made out of the product similar to absorbable suture material and several
treatments are required to provide a fuller look to the cheeks and temple areas. Many
patients would benefit only from the Sculptra and can put off or delay surgical procedures,
such as a facelift, for many years. This is a great new option to consider and we look
forward to discussing this with our patients. Dr. Davis is one of the few plastic surgeons in
the Atlanta market who has undergone certified Sculptra training.

We have recently adopted a new make-up line that we believe will be beneficial to all of our patients
for everything from everyday wear to post surgical cover-ups.

Atlanta-based make-up artist, salon owner, and founder of Aric C. Cosmetics. He began his career as a
professional photographer, where he learned first-hand that applying make-up was anything but easy.
Aric has responded to his clients needs by creating a personalized Blueprint For Beauty. This
blueprint simply put is a recipe for beauty. Blueprint For Beauty identifies a recommended skin
care regimen for all clients used to prepare the skin, foundations and concealers used to balance skin
pigmentation, color cosmetics to define features, and brushes to apply the product. Blueprint For
Beauty also teaches the client the specific order in which the products are applied. The brushes and
make-up are numbered in the order used, therefore; the client is able to "color by number" This
system was designed to help the client create a finished look in five minutes, a look we like to call
Five Minutes to Fabulous.

Dr. Davis has implemented a new pain management device for his surgical
